From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of the aircraft stated that there was approximately a 15 knot tailwind while attempting to land on a 2500 x 200FT turf runway at a private airpark. The pilot stated that he could not slow the plane down and overshot the runway. The aircraft departed the turf runway, proceeded through a wooden fence, over a county road, into a field where it struck several small trees and came to rest in a newly cleared field. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
