From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot had not obtained a weather brief or performed any pre-flight planning. Pilot is seriously confused and denies having flown into the keau airport earlier that day. Did not remember any airports where he had been. Experienced a generator failure sometime after landing at his third airport. Could not locate any airport after over an hour of flight. He had just been to rice lake airport and had been at the keau airport earlier that afternoon. He elected to land on a road 2 miles from keau airport at which time aircraft was substantially damaged.
