From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was at flight cruise level 300. The seatbelt sign was illuminated and passengers were seated with seatbelts fastened. Flight attendants had been advised by the flight crew of turbulence in the area and instructed to remain near their jumpseats. The flight subsequently encountered severe turbulence estimated to have lasted 30 seconds. One of the flight attendants was in the lavatory when the turbulence occurred and reported a possible sprained ankle. There were no other reported injuries to passengers or crewmembers. After the flight, medical diagnosis of the injured flight attendant's ankle revealed an acute fracture of the right fibula.
