From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a preflight inspection prior to the first flight of the day, the assigned pilot noticed that both tail rotor strike tabs were bent and marks on tail rotor blades. Indicating that the tailrotor had struck something. The pilot who flew the aircraft the previous day was interviewed by the company. The pilot was unaware of any event that caused the damage. The aircraft had undergone a routine maintenance inspection after the last flight of the day. However, the condition of the strike tabs were not discover until the next morning during a preflight inspection by the pilot on duty.
