From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Upon the third attempt at landing, the pilot was unable to get the aircraft stopped. The aircraft departed the south end of runway 18 while still on the ground. The pilot initiated a go around upon realizing the aircraft was no longer on the runway. Shortly after pulling back and adding power, the aircraft stalled and came down in a plowed bean field and continued to travel in a forward (southerly) direction. The aircraft impacted the bank of a creek approximately 150 yards off the departure end of runway 18. The aicraft was destroyed upon impact. Both the pilot and passenger sustained severe injuries.
