What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Pilot landed on snow covered runway. Snow was wet with a frozen top crust and a depth between eight (8) to ten (10) inches at impact point. The aircraft roll out was approx. 600 ft. at which point the main wheels sunk into the snow enough to arrest the aircraft and the aircraft flipped tail over nose and came to a rest on its back. The rollout showed evidence that the landing was a main gear only with no evidence of the tail wheel touching down.
