From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was conducting flight practice and landings at his home airport. The strip he was using was a grassy area located just north of the paved landing strip. When conducting his landing, he landed in an area with approximately 6 inches of unmowed grass. The aircraft came down and took back off for a short period. During one of the touchdowns, the right main wheel assembly separated from the aircraft and was found a distance from the final aircraft resting point. On his final landing the right main gear dragged in the dirt approximately 8 feet and eventually caught causing the aircraft to flip over with the aircraft ending up upside down and the nose pointing to the east.

As the FAA filed it
