From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot landed at home base airport 9WS2 (Antique Aerodrome, De Pere, WI) on the south sod runway. Green bay airport (grb), which is 7 miles north of 9WS2, reported winds at 190? 21KTS gusting to 31KTS in the 18:53Z (13:53 LCL) METAR. Pilot stated he landed using a wheel landing and shortly after lowering the tail wheel, the right wing came up causing the left wing to strike ground. The pilot stated that at the same time the aircraft veered left to the runway edge which has tall grass and a slight berm that drops off into a drainage ditch. The pilot stated that full right rudder at that point did not stop the aircraft from veering towards the left side of the runway. The aircraft came to rest on it nose in the east drainage ditch approximately 90? Off runway heading. The aircraft sustained damage to the propeller, cowl, left main gear and left wing tip.
