From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 25, 2012, at 10:00 cdst a Buckeye 582 dream machine, powered parachute, made unscheduled hard landing in a farmer's field near Pulaski, Wisconsin. The pilot received minor injuries and the aircraft has substanial damage. The aircraft was being operated part 91 for pleasure and the meteorological conditions were VFR. The aircraft departed from a private strip and that was also the intended final destination. The pilot stated that as he was allowing the engine to come up to operating tempature a gust of wind lifted up the chute and upon takeoff the left side of the chute didn't open correctly causing the power parachute to stay in a continuous right turn as he tried to land the right main gear hit the ground first breaking off the wheel and tipping the machine on it's side.
