From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 0645 CDT on June 28, 2011, N3299Z, Ayres corp. S2R-G10, was engaged in agricultural aerial spray operations over a cornfield near the intersection of the 35 road and p road, four miles northeast of Minden, Ne. The aircraft was being operated under 14 CFR part 137. The aircraft was on a south heading of 180? Spraying a swath of corn parallel to 35 road. The pilot climbed over a row of trees with adjacent grain bins and descended to continue spraying the swath. The pilot allowed the aircraft to descend slightly too low and into the top of the corn stalks. The pilot made every effort to regain altitude to clear the top of the corn, however was unsuccessful. After approximately five hundred feet of travel in the corn, the aircraft rolled and came to rest inverted about 100 feet north of p road. The aircraft was destroyed and the pilot suffered minor cuts and scrapes to face and arms.
