From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

From witness accounts the aircraft, N224SM, upon landing, the main nose landing gear began to shimmy to the point where the nose main landing gear separated from the aircraft. The aircraft then lost control and slid off the runway to a stop in the grassy area near the middle of the runway. The aircraft had damage to all propeller blades, nose landing gear separated from the airframe, nose main landing gear missing from wheel well. During further observation of the nose landing gear area found one of the landing gear doors missing and the bottom of the aircraft severely scuffed.
