From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot attempted to land a/c on Perl Beach strip (above tide line) and found it to be over grown with brush. Then he evaluated the Beach and determined it to be safe for landing. After deplaneing the passengers, the pilot and the new pilot (receiving training for Beach landings), then walked the Beach to determine the take-off terrain, satisfied they started the engine and started taxing. They then started their line up to take off when the a/c sank in the sand. Unable to free the a/c in time the tide came in and covered the a/c and activated the ELT.. When the tide receded the a/c went with it and is being tracked, following the ELT signal. There were no injuries and the crew was recovered.
