From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated by telephone that the aircraft was flying south at 5000FEET when the left hand engine stopped producing power. He feathered the propellor on the left hand engine and prepared for an emergency landing. He landed the aircraft and rolled about 1500 feet down a dirt road. The left gear slipped off of the road surface into a ditch that ran alongside. The aircraft abruptly swung to the left and plowed the nose of the aircraft into a dirt bank, also damaging the left wing leading edge. The right engine was still producing some power and was stopped by bending the propellor. He exited the aircraft and walked out to the main road for help.
