From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a VFR flight from akron, n.y. (9G3) to groton, CT (kgon) the pilot stated his engine stopped suddenly resulting in a forced landing on a tidal marsh at Waterford beach park, about three miles west of groton. The pilot wasn't injured and the aircraft wasn't damaged. Our inspection at the landing site revealed the fuel tank was empty. The pilot claims the fuel gauge doesn't work after the tank is below half or if a high percentage of ethenol is in the fuel.
