From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On aug. 22, 2012, a Cessna 310 landed gear up at the Laredo International Airport after doing a touch and go. On the second go around the PIC, flying in the right seat, states he could not see the landing gear lights from the right seat and assumed the landing gear was still down. The aircraft skidded on its belly 260 yards leaving 27 prop strikes before coming to a stop. There were no injuries to either pilot onboard. Inspector david benningfield was in Laredo at the time of the incident and was able to ask the aircraft owner to lower the gear after the aircraft was hoisted off the runway and moved to the ramp.
