What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot stated that his engine began to run rough and was losing power. He was in contact with ATC and they informed him of his closest airports. Unable to reach an airport the aircraft was forced to ditch in the salt water. The pilot exited the aircraft without injury and was able to make it to a semi land mass fairly close to the partially submerged aircraft and was rescued by the USCG and taken to USCG air station clearwater.
