From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft approached rwy 7 for landing and upon passing the tree-line on final started to sink and increase attitude/pitch. Adjustments were made to power, pitch and roll to correct for the landing when the aircraft started to roll and deviate to the left. The aircraft touched down about 30 degrees off runway heading about 40 feet left of the runway in the grass. The aircraft proceeded to strike a fence as full power was added. The aircraft touched down again and then proceeded into a wooded area where it struck multiple trees, broke apart and a fire ensued. The student and passenger were rescued from the fire and hospitilized. The fire consumed the aircraft and the flight instructor perished in the ensueing fire.
