From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft left runway 31 to the right at the first taxiway exiting the runway after landing, traveled approximately 600 feet across turf, impacted hangar door with right wing and hangar door support with left wing. Airplane then traveled approximately 60 feet and came to rest nose down in drainage ditch. The aircraft was substantially damaged and the pilot/sole occupant received minor injuries. The pilot reports that he experienced rudder control failure at touchdown. Witnesses report the airplane bounced approximately 5 to 8 feet upon landing before leaving runway. Witnesses State the airplane engine noise was "very loud" and they estimated the airplane was travelling approximately 50 mph up to the point of impact with the hangar. Onp wx at 1635Z was 030/03KT.landing runway was dry and weather was not a factor. Rudder, brake, aileron, elevator, throttle, and mixture control continuity were verified by FAA and the aircraft manufacturer's representative following accident.
