From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 10, 2012, at 0915 MDT, N6061R, a Lindstrand Balloons model 90A balloon, registered to privacy data omitted, landed approximately 2 miles east northeast of the Albuquerque balloon fiesta park (abfp), Albuquerque, NM. In anticipation of the high surface winds, the pilot descended into an open field. The aircraft dug a trench for several yards dissipating the wind's force as it came to a stop. As the gondola skidded to a stop, the passenger struck the gondola's upright fracturing her humerus. The aircraft was not damaged. The passenger thought that her injury was a severe bruise until she was informed on October 11, 2012, by her physician that the humerus was fractured. On October 12, 2012, the passenger informed the pilot of her injury. The pilot reported the injury to the abq FSDO.
