From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On November 4, 2012, at approximately 19:30 CDT, N4525V, a Beechcraft 35, was enroute from midland airpark (kmdd), located in midland, Texas to david wayne hooks memorial airport (kdwh), located in spring, Texas, the aircraft lost all electrical power. Pilot squawked 7600 and was able to obtain a green light signal from the local air traffic control tower and performed an emergency landing gear manual extension. Pilot performed a visual inspection of the mechanical landing gear indicator; which indicated the landing gear was down and locked. Pilot proceeded to land on runway 36. After touch down the aircraft rolled out and the left main gear collapsed. The aircraft came to rest just past east of taxiway echo. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the aircraft left ailerons, wing tip, engine, propeller and left landing gear assembly and lower fuselage belly damage. The pilot and passenger were uninjured and were able to extricate themselves from the aircraft.
