From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Description: at the completion of a company initial flight training for a new hire pilot the aircraft was taxied close to an adjacent shade hanger. A hard point turn was attempted to better align the aircraft for subsequent planned towing operations. While turning the aircraft to the left, the right edge of the t-tail elevator was driven into the support structure of the shade hanger causing elevator damage. The resultant rotational force applied to the tail of the aircraft caused the vertical portion of the stabilizer to bend to the left.

As the FAA filed it
