From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

privacy data omitted, PIC of N5813L, American AA-5, was landing on runway 7. Winds were 140-170 at 12 knots gusting to 20 as reported by the airport. Upon touch down, the aircraft started to bounce and the right wing started to lift so the PIC elected to apply full throttle for a go-around. As power was applied the aircraft rotated 90 degrees to the left, the airspeed was less than 60 knots, settled to the grass and hit the left wing and collapsed the nose landing gear. The aircraft slid across the grass, taxiway and impacted a tree line. A tree impacted the left wing and came to rest against the spar.
