From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman stated he had departed port clinton airport (kpcw) on 12/27/2012 in order to deliver the U.S. Mail to north Bass island (3X5) and Middle Bass island (3T7). As airman approached Middle Bass island (3T7), airman elected to conduct a short filed landing into the 1852 foot runway. As airman "dragged" in the aircraft on short final he had fallen behind the power curve, which caused the aircraft to sink rapidly. Airman was unable to recover in time. The aircraft's right main landing gear had landed in a snow field short of runway 28, followed by the left main landing gear and nose gear. Aircraft's right main landing gear had sunk into the mud and caught the runway edge lip. Aircraft right main landing gear had folded backwards as aircraft entered runway 28 and skidded to a stop 700 feet from the approach end. Substantial damage to aircraft right wing spar. No injuries to airman. Aircraft conducted under 14 CFR part 135. No passengers.
