From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Owner received his temporary airworthiness certificate at a safety meeting (1/26/2013) in olney Texas. Owner was working his testing plan. He was conducting high speed taxi checks. After the fifth check the aircraft gently lifted off the runway at the 3000 foot marker he then flew 2000 more feet at an altitude of approx. 50 feet AGL and 55-60 knots. He was trying to stay away from flying over buildings at the end of runway 17. He initiated a left turn to a crosswind leg, immediately lost altitude, he then reduced power, and the aircraft began to settle toward the ground. He attempted to initiate a recovery but, was too low and slow, struck the ground, substantially damaging the aircraft
