From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft operator departed the rv park for the first flight in the aircraft, an unregistered LSA. The aircraft may not have been registered prior to the deadline set to register ultra-lights. After a flight around the local area, it appears the operator approached the rv park for a low pass. Once he reached the tree line, he executed a pull up to avoid the trees and entered a stall, leading to a spin. The aircraft had two seats but no documentation supported it being registered. The girlfriend reported that the operator had taken flight lessons and was within 2 hours of his licenses. The training was reported to have taken place in Wisconsin. No record was found on the operator in the FAA databases to show a student certificate. Girl friend also reported the operator had 2 beers prior to departure.

As the FAA filed it
