From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 2/20/2013, the cvg FSDO was notified of a flight attendant that had injured herself by falling out of the fwd/right right service door of the aircraft.

After follow-up, it was found that the flight attendant had fallen out of the service door due to trying to reach for a passengers paperwork in row 1A that had blown away due to the door opening and gusting winds.. The flight attendant stepped back and lost her balance, tripping over bags of ice placed in the galley by ramp personnel just prior.

The bags of ice had been requested by the flight attendant to be brought to the aircraft by the flight attendant.

The flight attendant fell to the ground landing on her side/back, also hitting her head.

The captain and first officer assisted her while the ramp agent called paramedics.

The flight attendant was able to walk to the ambulance on her own and was transported to the hospital where it was determined that she had suffered a thoracic fracture to the 12th vertebrae.
