From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was level at 3,000 MSL on the ILS 24 approach at cuyahoga county airport (kcgf) just outside of the final approach fix. This is approx. 7 miles NE of kcgf.

The aircraft sustained a bird strike from a hawk on the right wing, outboard of the engine nacelle, inboard of the main (tip) fuel tank.

The pilot did not lose control of the aircraft, however, he indicated that there was a continuous large vibration during the remainder of the approach.

The pilot continued the approach and landed at cgf without further incident.
