From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During approach to land the pilot initiated a go around, lost directional control and caught a wire from an electric fence with the right main gear. The aircraft continued to fly at a very low speed and altitude until it struck a shed with the right wing tip, impacted the ground, then spun around into a lawn between two houses adjacent to the grass strip.

The wire fence is approximately 60 feet from the center line of the runway. The shed is approximately another 130 feet away and the final resting place of the aircraft was 50 feet from the shed. A considerable amount of the wire from the fence remained wrapped around the gear and the tail section of the aircraft.

The aircraft had been modified with the following:

?Converted to a tail wheel landing gear.

?Converted to 150 HP 0-320-E2D Lycoming engine with a sensenich prop.

?Wing leading edge cuff stol kit

As the FAA filed it
