From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was on downwind for runway 13 at lxl at approximately 800' AGL. Pilot pulled back throttle to reduce power. Engine went to idle. Pilot then pushed throttle in to add power and there was no change in engine RPM. Pilot attempted to continue the landing and struck a gate in the fence line about 600 feet short of runway 13 threshold. Upon striking the gate, the aircraft became inverted and contacted the ground approximately 40 feet beyond the gate and then slid approximately 30 feet while inverted. Both pilot and passenger were able to exit the aircraft with no notable injuries.
