From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was attempting a banner tow pick up demonstration for FAA as a result of a banner tow accident on April 28th, 2013, three days earlier. The airplane picked up the banner tow rope as planned but got too slow during the climb out resulting in an excessive angle of attack causing a stall. The aircraft dipped to the left and descended rapidly striking the ground, breaking in half and flipping over. The pilot was the sole occupant and received minor injuries.
