From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed his private farm strip and proceeded to fly around his property to look at water conditions. While airborne, the wind shifted directions and increased in speed.

Because of the change in wind, the pilot elected to land at another open area on his property. He knew the area well and knew of the power lines near his site of intended landing.

During the approach, the pilot was concentrating on one set of power lines and struck another causing the aircraft to nose over and impact the terrain. This resulted in the aircraft flipping onto its back.
