From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that on climb to 11,500 ft for jumpers, engine failed at 6500 ft on left tank. Switched to right tank where fuel was registering. He tried to restart with boost pump selected to low. He was unable to start and selected boost pump to high and had a succcessful start at 6000 ft. he continued to 11,500 ft and flew over drop zone and jumpers departed the aircraft. He decended to 2300 ft and turned for 2 mile left base for runway 20. At this time he performed gumps check and switched to left tank (fullest tank). Engine ran for 60-90 seconds then quit. Aircraft impacted ground 20 seconds later 200 feet short of runway.
