From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On July 5, 2013 at 1135 local N1441T a Piper PA-28-140 attempted takeoff and departure from Blairstown NJ, 1N7 runway 25. Witnesses at the airport stated the aircraft rotated to a nose high attitude at about 1000 feet of takeoff roll, never gaining more than 50 feet in altitude. When the aircraft approached the tree line 249 degrees and 2,985 feet from the departure end of runway 25 witnesses stated the aircraft pitched nose up to the point the top of the engine cowling and wings could be seen. The aircraft cleared the trees, stalled and landed in the front yard of a home causing substantial damage to the aircraft. Witnesses and the pilot stated there were no issues with the engine and it appeared to be making full power. The pilot stated the ?stall warning light? Was on when he pitched up to avoid the trees but could not recall exactly when it was activated. Preflight planning by the PIC showed the aircraft weight at the time of the accident at 2,084 lbs. Max gross weight for the aircraft is 2,150 lbs.

Nearest METAR at the time of the accident was K12N aeroflex-andover airport 12NM at 259 degrees.
