From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Student pilot with a total time of 27 hours was on third solo under the supervision of his instructor. He was performing touch and go landings at kbmq. On his sixth attempt he did not flare properly and bounced from center line of the runway to right of center line. He tried to keep the aircraft on the ground rather than go around, applied left brake and ground looped to the left. He traveled off the paved part of the runway and got into the grass almost doing a 180 degree turn. The right main tire dug into the soft grass and broke the main gear at the main gear truss. The right wing tip hit hard causing buckling in the right wing skin.
