From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of N804LA, a Bell-206 helicopter had just departed a private business location in Albers, Illinois, to a location near pevely, Missouri. He had leveled the aircraft at approximately 600 feet above ground level and was at a speed of 60 knots when he noticed a decay in engine RPM. The pilot elected to make an off airport landing and conducted an autorotation maneuver into a corn field. As the aircraft contacted the surface of the field it rolled over onto the left side which resulted in substantial damage to the aircraft. No injuries were sustained to the pilot or his two passengers as a result of this event.
