From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While performing touch and go landings at skagit regional airport the pilot was on his second touch and go when he flared too high above the runway. His attempts to correct the situation began causing the aircraft to porpoise. He added power attempting a go around when the aircraft continued to sink in a nose down attitude striking the runway causing the nose gear to bend rearwards underneath the forward belly section of the fuselage. The propeller struck the runway, shattering it. The the pilot exited the aircraft once it stopped he noted a strong fuel smell and later observed fuel leaking from the belly area just behind the firewall. The pilot sustained no injuries.
