From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Received call from chicago roc of an aircraft crash near the Paris, IL airport at 12:24 local. 1 fatal, pilot identified as rusty bogue, owner of rsb aviation in Paris. It appears that the left engine was having known problems with acceleration and would hang at 70

%. This would last for as little as a couple of seconds up to a couple of minutes. The aircraft left the departure end of runway 9, continued on the grass into a bean field where marks on the field indicate that the right propeller was cutting a swath in the beans but no marks from the left engine can be seen. At this point the aircraft became airborne, dragging the main wheels through a corn field. The aircraft then gains altitude and starts clipping trees and the aircraft descends through the trees and impacts the ground approximately 3/4 mile from the departure end of the runway.
