From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated, upon landing at a private strip, he applied brakes and began to slip. He continued down center of strip, periodically applying brakes to slow the aircraft and maintain control. He was aware of slipping when brakes were applied. He realized he was unable to slow the aircraft suffieciently; he veered to the left into the grass to slow the aircraft, this slowed the aircraft considerably. As he veered to the left to proceed to the ramp, the aircraft nosed into a ditch. Damage was limited to the end cap of the right wing and propellers. The landing strip was wet from rain and had been sealed in the past week. The pilot was unaware of the strip being resealed.

As the FAA filed it
