From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was enroute from ely, Nevada to richfield, Utah, when the pilot noticed that the engine?s cylinder head temperature was rising. He thought it might have been a leaking hose (Rotax water-cooled engine) or a bad temperature gauge sensor. He elected to make a precautionary landing to terrain which he thought was suitable in order to avoid engine damage or failure. However, during the touchdown and landing roll he encountered uneven terrain, which ultimately resulted in a rough landing and subsequently substantial damage to both wings.

As the FAA filed it
