From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off on runway 34 at Renton airport (rnt) to practice touch and go landings. He established a 60 knot approach speed. Once he had the runway made he did not reduce power to idle because he was considering a go-around. He continued the landing and landed at a higher landing speed than normal. After landing he applied braking at which time the aircraft immediately veered to the left. He was struggling to maintain straight line braking. Considering the water at the end of the runway and the excessive speed the aircraft was going he chose to taxi the aircraft off the left side of the runway into the grass in an effort to slow down. The aircraft hit a sign causing damage to the left wing tip.

As the FAA filed it
