From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Hour into the flight pilot noticed an electrical problem and turned off alternator and master power switch. The pilot turned power back on every 10 minutes to check engine instruments and fuel. The engine began running rough and the engine quit running (propeller windmilling but no power) after 30 seconds of rough running. Power out checklist was performed and pilot determined that he was not going to make baldwin county airport (mlj). At 4000 MSL and mlj unreachable pilot looked for an alternate landing area. The pilot selected a four lane divided highway and upon approach hit a concrete electrical pole support cable with the prop and caused the aircraft to touch down hard.
