From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N231SM a Mooney M20K took off from tmb at 0745 EST on 11/30/2013 towards kpgd via lbv. Weather was no factor at departing airport. Pilot checked the weather in the air for pgd and TAF was reporting low ceiling at 200 feet with mist. Pilot decided to land at kapf first to refuel and wait for the weather to get better. Pilot was cleared to land rwy 14 since rwy 5-23 was closed. Wind was coming from 030 at 8KNTS gusting at 15KNTS. At around 0845 EST aircraft touched down and got airborne again bounced twice after the first touch down and nose wheel hit the rwy first and collapsed on the third touchdown striking the propeller and skiding down the rwy. The propeller, the engine and the bottom of the cowling skin sustained damages.
