From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot departed pafa enroute to pata at approximately 1706 ast. He was cleared for the RNAV rwy 7 approach. Honsi transition. Pata weather was 500 ovc and 1 1/2 mile vis. He flew the transition 500 low. He crossed the faf 700 ft. low. At approximately 3 NM short of the runway the aircraft struck a tree with the left engine, at approximately 1000 ft. MSL. The pilot applied power and climbed out with a right turn and contacted anc center for an IFR clearance back to fairbanks. He did not execute the published missed approach. He did not declare an emergency or tell ATC of the tree strike. After reaching 9000 ft. he told ATC that his left engine was not developing full power. He landed at fairbanks without further incidence.
