From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The two gates in question were not designed to facilitate both Boeing 757 and Boeing 737 (next gen) aircraft together at the same time. The klm 737 was still at the gate because of a weather delay. The us airways 757 appeared to properly follow the center line using the self-parking system used at this station.

The B-757 sustained minor damage to the right wingtip leading edge. No damage to the spar was found. The aircraft was repositioned to charlotte, NC for repairs.
