From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At 1624 on dec 24, 2013 this aircraft was on an uncoupled ILS approach to khio r/w 13. On final, pilot stated she lost sight of runway in the dense fog around 1000' and chose to continue the landing (historical data information shows that conditions of VV002 /vis 00.0 unchanged between 1553 and 1645). When pilot regained visual on runway the aircraft had drifted right and was no longer over runway 13. Aircraft landed hard in the grass/mud between r/w 13 and the parallel taxiway and became uncontrollable. Aircraft then skidded across the A3 ramp, sheering off nose / left main gear, and coming to rest upright. Pilot evacuated aircraft and due to visibility issues called the tower (via cell phone) to report the accident and request crash fire rescue response. The pilot and front seat passenger sustained minor injuries and back seat passenger was uninjured.

As the FAA filed it
