From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

N19VC (RV-9) departed IFR from myam (marsh harbor, Bahamas) en route to sfb (sanford, FL). At 1826Z, the pilot cancelled IFR with orlando TRACON. The TRACON kept him on his beacon code and continued providing VFR sequencing services into sfb. When the aircraft was approx. 16 miles west of sfb at 1832Z, the pilot advised the TRACON controller that he was experiencing engine problems and was going to attempt to land on a road he had in sight. The controller enlisted the help of the seminole county sheriff helicopter who went to location where N19VC was last observed on radar. The helicopter was able to locate the aircraft inverted in lake county near lake plymouth & haas roads (lat/long 28 47.398N / 81 31.041W) in a construction site. There were 2 people on board. Both were transported to the orange county medical center with non life threatening injuries.
