From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Delta airlines flight 468, aircraft N661US, during passenger boarding, prior to departing from jfk terminal 4, gate C20. A delta global services (dgs) lavatory (lav) service truck struck and impacted the rear of the aircraft while positioning to service the aircraft?s aft lavatories. VMC meteorological conditions with gusting winds were prevailing at the time of this incident.

According to incident reports and aircraft maintenance logbook records provided from the air carrier and airport agencies stated, that the dgs lav service truck was being guided back to the rear of the aircraft, to service the aft lav?s. as the dgs guide person signaled the driver of lav service truck to stop, the vehicle driver failed to stop. At this time the guide person moved out of the way of the lavatory service truck in order to avoid from being hit by the moving vehicle.

The driver of the lav service truck had lost control of the vehicle, due to his loss of consciousness, causing the vehicle to proceed under the fuselage, impacting and damaging the aircraft?s mid-aft drain mast, center VHF antenna and to the passenger door of the lavatory service truck, before coming to a full stop on the aircraft?s #12 main landing gear wheel tire assembly.

The guide person then proceeded to the driver?s side of the lav service truck, where he noticed his co-worker was unresponsive. When the nypa airport police arrived to the scene, the driver was semi-conscious and could not recall any of the events that took place. The driver was then transported to Jamaica hospital.

As the FAA filed it
