From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident pilot was on a student solo cross country flight. Upon landing at his second point of arrival (lee), he apparently flared higher than normal, and landed hard on the main landing gear, leading to a bounce, followed by a second hard landing on all three landing gear. The nose strut failed from the impact and the nose wheel/fork assembly broke off the strut. The aircraft came to a stop on the mains and the nose. The propeller blades both struck the runway, and there appears to be damage to the firewall area.
