From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Shortly after takeoff from a local fly-in breakfast the aircraft experienced a loss of power, maneuvered abnormally and impacted the ground in a semi wooded pasture.

The aircraft came to rest upright on its belly against a small grove of trees and was completely destroyed, no post impact fire ensued. Both occupants sustained serious injuries. Several witnesses and pilot and passenger stated that this was the second attempt at a departure from the grass strip. The first attempt resulted in a partial loss of power or (loading up) just after rotation, aborted and made a landing on the remaining runway, taxied back to departure end did another run up, mag check and departed again.
