From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot landed at Wickenburg without checking AWOS. He was on student cross country and had previously landed at gila bend. He had not filed flight plan from gila bend to Wickenburg.

Upon landing the aircraft bounced. The pilot reports that he shoved the nose over and the aircraft bounced again after the prop hit the runway. He then proceeded to go around as there was insufficient runway ahead. The pilot elected a shortened pattern to rwy 23 because the engine was shaking severely. He was able to land aircraft with no further problems.

Maintenance performed a hard landing inspection and found no damage to the firewall, engine mount, or landing gear. The engine and propeller were replaced with rebuilt units
